CAC Málaga – La Coracha presents the exhibition Pax Natura by Aixa Portero, made up of almost twenty works of her most recent works, between 2015 and 2021, some of them unpublished for this exhibition. The artist from Malaga shows us scenic spaces where reality acquires nuances charged with great sensitivity and beauty that go beyond what is seen with the naked eye. Branches, leaves, feathers, open books mixed with everyday objects that recreate aspects of nature coexist in Aixa Portero’s work. The material is just a tool to express the concept of her work, which usually combines painting, sculpture, photography, installation or new technologies, always closely linked to philosophy and poetry. Her works are impregnated with autobiographical overtones with messages that claim resilience, change, transformation, sustainability, human rights or serenity. With this exhibition, Aixa Portero intends to reveal what is hidden behind the layers that make up her works, allowing the viewer to awaken the search for an emotion or an experience regardless of the layers they may go through to read about her pieces or respond to the raised questions. Pax Natura is an example of the center’s firm commitment to supporting contemporary artists in the area. I take advantage of these lines to once again invite people from Malaga and visitors to discover and be part of this new and exceptional proposal.
